Terrill Warrenburg: Compositions for Tomorrow
November 2025 | YWCA Gallery, Greenwich, CT
Opening Reception: Sunday, November 16, 2–4 PM
The YWCA Gallery in Greenwich will present Compositions for Tomorrow, a solo exhibition of paintings by Terrill Warrenburg, opening November 2025.
Warrenburg’s painting practice is rooted in a dialogue between intention and chance, where organic forms, emotional resonance, and time converge. Many of the works in this exhibition began years ago in Brooklyn or Westchester, and have since been revisited and transformed in her Greenwich studio. Layers of pigment, loose powders, and spray paint accumulate over time, creating surfaces that merge memory with the present moment. Gravity, fluid movement, and the natural flow of materials introduce elements of unpredictability—turning accidents into opportunities.
Drawing inspiration from natural phenomena such as fluid dynamics, geological layers, and cellular structures, these abstract compositions echo the impermanence and interconnectedness of life. Each painting invites the viewer to look closely, uncovering subtle shifts and hidden details, and to consider the beauty of transformation and imperfection.
An opening reception with the artist will take place on Sunday, November 16, from 2 to 4 PM at the YWCA Gallery. The event is free and open to the public, offering a chance to experience the work firsthand and connect with the local creative community.
