Continuations is a series of small-scale works on paper made in tandem with a chosen song. Using automatic mark-making, I let my hand respond to melody’s arc; the lines subtly shift and tire as the music progresses. While the watercolor remains wet, I pour layers of paint over the marks, allowing color to bring conscious counterpoint to automatic gesture. Through looping time, shifting line, and translucent light, Continuations is my durational practice—an invitation into flow, where the subconscious takes the lead.
